Start booking reservations: Esquire has published its story about the country’s best new restaurants. Food & drinks editor editor Jeff Gordinier’s ranking of 18 places is heavier on New York than other lists put out this year, with the Grill and the Pool, Flora Bar, Olmsted, Chumley’s, and Atla all making the cut. Top honors, though, go to Venice pasta spot Felix Trattoria, from acclaimed chef Evan Funke, and Gordinier calls out some of the year’s other big hits including Han Oak and Tartine Manufactory. There’s also an “honorable mention” shout-out to Philadelphia social club Palizzi, and the package includes a few other awards, like chef of the year for Flora Bar’s Ignacio Mattos.
