David Lynch Finally Releases Twin Peaks Beers

David Lynch: iconic director, onetime milkshake connoisseur, and, now, craft-brew collaborator. Beer-geek darling Mikkeller announced that it joined forces with Lynch to brew not one but three different Twin Peaks–inspired beers: Log Lady Lager, Red Room Ale, and the excellently named Damn Good Coffee Stout. The beers will launch this weekend at the filmmaker’s Festival of Disruption in Los Angeles, and will be sold in limited quantities at the brewery’s outposts in L.A., Oakland, San Diego, and San Francisco.

Rudely, the beers won’t be available in New York — even though Mikkeller’s team here is responsible for these suds. Members of the brewery’s New York operations are, no huge surprise here, big Twin Peaks fans and happened to know some people from Lynch’s camp. The director previously designed a label for Dom Pérignon and has his own coffee, David Lynch Signature Cup Organic House Blend, which will be used in the stout. Each of the beers features an illustration based on an iconic Twin Peaks scene, and the design process sounds very Lynchian. After talking with Mikkeller’s art director, Lynch sent over “a mood board of various Mikkeller labels.” That sounds about right.
