A 3-Alarm Fire Broke Out at a Times Square Restaurant This Morning

A fire broke out at 5 a.m. at TSQ Brasserie in Times Square, requiring the response of some 140 firefighters to get it under control. The three-alarm fire started in the ducts of the restaurant, located at 48th Street and Seventh Avenue, and spread to two other buildings. Two firefighters were injured and treated on the scene, as well as a civilian who was sent to a nearby hospital, and residents were advised to keep their windows closed due to the smoke. Firefighters were still on the scene at 7 a.m., and the incident disrupted the morning commute, causing buses to be rerouted and traffic delays. The cause is still being investigated.
