Budweiser Actually Hosted a ‘Media Preview’ for Its Super Bowl Ads

Budweiser cares deeply about its Super Bowl ads, a massive and wildly expensive platform that it uses for noble causes like making fun of craft brewers. So deeply, in fact, that it’s actually gone to the lengths of hosting reporters for a “media preview” for its ads this year like it’s screening movies for Oscars season or something. Presumably, the reporters attended for the opportunity to spoil the ads for all of their football-loving friends who only check out the game to watch puppies reunite with their best friends.

During this session, the brewer — which is hardly the only brand that goes to such lengths to advertise its advertisements —distributed branded folders with details on the four brands that will be featured in this year’s commercials: Bud Light, Budweiser, Busch, and Michelob Ultra. These presumably top-secret folders included “fun facts” on the brands, though anyone who has ever drank Busch knows there is no such thing as a “fun fact” about it.
