This maxim has reached its inevitable conclusion at the Japanese restaurant Shake Tree, which in the great tradition of pseudo-sandwiches like KFC’s Double Down, has eliminated the bun entirely … and replaced it with two beef patties stuffed with the usual fixings. Called the “Wild Out,” it costs just $12 — a serious bargain for a totally new take on the gluten-free cheeseburger.
