No more resorting to lettuce-wrapped Smoke Shacks for you, wheat-averse burger fiend. Danny Meyer’s burger chain Shake Shack has introduced gluten-free buns for the first time (just as it’s taken its mobile-ordering app national). The chain has opted to make the buns available at all locations nationwide (except those in stadiums). The new bun isn’t a dead ringer for the squishy Martin’s potato roll that Shake Shackers have come to know and love, but the customers who want to avoid gluten for one reason or another should nevertheless be happy with this development, although the new buns will make the burgers cost $1 extra.
