The Latest Tech-Bro Innovation Is an App to ‘Help’ You Fast

What could possibly help you feel better during this lousy year? No, not comfort food, silly — mild starvation! Kevin Rose, an entrepreneur who co-founded Digg, is behind a new app called Zero, which offers a “simple way to track your daily fasting.”

Rose felt inspired after following a 16-hour fast that Hugh Jackman used for Wolverine — which seems pretty dangerous for all plebeians. He thinks of fasting as more than a “fun body hack to lose weight,” and cites numerous health benefits. The app comes loaded with two predefined fasts, but it’s also customizable, in case you want to embrace a full-blown eating disorder.
