Go to Shake Shack Now If You Want a Son of a Gun Chick’n Shack

You can only get the Son of a Gun Chick’n Shack at the original Shake Shack. Photo: Shake Shack

Shake Shack will have a couple of unusual guests working the line this afternoon. Los Angeles chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo are posting up at the original Madison Square Park location, where they’re dropping by for the collaborative Son of a Gun Chick’n Shack ($6.50) — today and today only. Inspired by Son of a Gun’s lusted-after chicken sandwich, it’s made with chicken breast made the Shake Shack way (slow-cooked in buttermilk marinade, dipped in batter, and dredged through seasoned flour) and topped with a spicy bread-and-butter pickle slaw and rooster aioli. There’s a limited amount available, and Shake Shack opens at 11 a.m., so if you’ve been thinking about Son of a Gun nonstop since your last time in L.A., don’t waste any time.
