Today, Andrew Knowlton and Julia Kramer released their annual list of the 50 nominees for Bon Appétit’s “Best New Restaurant” title. Past winners for the coveted honor have included Rose’s Luxury, which is now impossible to get into, and, most recently, AL’s Place in San Francisco. This year’s list features a strong crop of New York restaurants, including underdog turned critical darling Mimi, Superiority Burger, Bar Goto, Wildair, and Underground Gourmet favorite Té Company. Both Mimi, which received three stars from New York’s Adam Platt, and Wildair figured into GQ’s list earlier this year. Big names outside the city include Baroo and Trois Familia in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C.’s the Dabney, Grant Achatz’s Roister in Chicago, and the Perennial in San Francisco.
