Despite the name, the minds behind the controversial “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” list remain unable to actually narrow it down to 50 entries. Today the organization released its list of runners-up, numbers 51 through 100, in advance of the full lineup’s reveal next week on June 13. New York has a strong showing, with Enrique Olvera’s Cosme and Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare debuting on the list alongside Daniel, Momofuku Ko, and Per Se, which dropped 12 spots. (New Dehli restaurant Indian Accent has a New York outpost as well, for what it’s worth.) Estela, 90th on last year’s list, is absent this round, and Parisian neo-bistro Le Chateaubriand dropped 53 spots down to 74. São Paulo’s Mani, which ranked 41st in 2015, tops this year’s list of runner-ups.
