Here’s Where to Go to Get Your Fried Chicken Extra Spicy

Yes, there’s a lot of great fried chicken in New York right now, but Carla Hall’s new Nashville-style restaurant is a noteworthy addition. She has taken over the old Whiskey Soda Lounge space on Columbia Street in Brooklyn to open a fast-casual concept centered on hot chicken, offering it in six different levels of heat. (The hottest is called “Boomshakalaka,” which is just great.) There are plenty of sides, too: macaroni and cheese, potato salad, candied yams, and the southern delicacy of pimento cheese with Ritz crackers. Take a look:
