This New Video Series Highlights Emerging Culinary Talent

Making it in the food industry — whether as a chef, a farmer, or an entrepreneur — requires overcoming a lot of (ever-mounting) hurdles. In a new video series called “Taste Makers,” the New York Times is documenting the journeys and dreams of several aspiring culinary professionals. Not just the usual names, either, but people still figuring it out, including Adrienne Cheatham, an executive chef of Harlem’s Red Rooster; Nigerian chef Tunde Wey, who gained attention last year for his one-man culinary road show; and Eduardo Rivera, a Mexico-born farmer trying to bring organic produce to Minnesota’s Latin population.
