Raccoon Lodge Closing on June 30

Despite facing certain doom, Tribeca dive Raccoon Lodge has managed to stave off closing since it was announced last May that its building would be razed. But the bar’s reign of boilermakers will finally come to an end on June 30, at least at 59 Warren Street. A Community Board 1 agenda reveals that an applicant called “20 Lodge Associates LLC” applied for nearby 20 Warren Street, but under the guise of “Raccoon Saloon.” So is this Raccoon Lodge 2.0? Tribeca Citizen speculated it might be, but a commenter who goes by the name Ace and appears to be the owner says the bar “is not associated with the Raccoon Lodge aside from possibly hiring out of work bartenders/managers.” So it sounds, sadly, like this is the end of the Raccoon Lodge.
