There’s been a variety of questionable menu items unveiled under the Golden Arches recently, but between sweet-potato fries and now a planned national rollout of fried cheese sticks, the chain may finally be speaking customers’ language. McDonald’s says $1 mozzarella sticks will be added to the menu beginning in 2016, and they come three to a pack with marinara. They’ve apparently already passed muster with Wisconsin cheeseheads.
They’re also insanely cheap, the reason being that McDonald’s envisions them as “a snack item to add to your order.” That sounds like a good way to turn lunch into a health horror, but that’s a risk people seem ready to take:
