NYC Will Finally Get the Hello Kitty Food Truck It’s Been Waiting For

It's happening.
It’s happening.

There are tons of great restaurants in New York, and you can find excellent versions of nearly any kind of cuisine you’d want to eat. It’s an embarrassment of riches, really. Yet it nevertheless feels as though there’s always been one very clear thing missing from the city’s dining scene: a Hello Kitty food truck. Finally, that wrong has been righted.

Sanrio — the company behind Hello Kitty — sends word that this Sunday, two mere days from now, they’ll park their bright-pink truck outside their pop-up store at 1560 Broadway in Times Square from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for two days only. There, New Yorkers will not only be able to buy Hello Kitty–shaped cookies but — get this — cookies decorated with a frosted Hello Kitty. There will also be macarons, mini-cakes, bow-shaped water bottles, and lots of other themed merchandise, of course. You may as well start camping out now.
