Kooky, inventive desserts have propelled Dominique Ansel to international fame, but what happens when he bakes down-home pastries? You can find out on October 1, when he’ll host his first after-hours event at Dominique Ansel Kitchen: a “Pie Night,” featuring nine different varieties of the confection. A $35 ticket buys unlimited (!) slices of pie, a glass of Champagne, and Ansel’s homemade ice creams. Here’s the pie lineup:

• Salted-caramel apple pie
• Blueberry pie with buttermilk-oat crumble

Tickets go on sale on September 10 at 12 p.m., and there are three one-hour time slots available (7 to 8, 8 to 9, and 9 to 10 p.m.). That equals eating a new flavor of pie every six and a half minutes — totally feasible.
