Kraft is voluntarily recalling 36,000 cases of its American and White American Singles (in three- and four-pound sizes only) after receiving ten consumer complaints and three reports of choking. The problem isn’t the cheese itself, and it has nothing to do with the recent purge of an artificial preservative. Rather, there are concerns related to a potentially hazardous packaging film: According to the company, “a thin strip of individual packaging film” may stick to the cheese when the slice’s wrapper is removed and, if unnoticed, could potentially be a choking hazard. That surely won’t taste good when melted on a burger.
