As if you needed another reason to lay off the supermarket sushi: The CDC confirms that 62 people in 11 states who ate raw yellowfin tuna from a California fish supplier have caught salmonellosis. The bacteria was found in a frozen shipment from Indonesia, and the supplier, Osamu Corporation, has voluntarily recalled all of that order. It distributed it to a brand called AFC, which then sold it to restaurants and grocery stores. If that makes sushi eaters nervous, the agency suggests that people can “inquire of their restaurant or grocery store about the source of their fish,” which, come to think of it, isn’t a bad policy, broadly speaking.
