Is it another Fuku? A cheap-beer hall? A burger joint, just to stick it to the Australians? David Chang and his business partner, Andrew Salmon, are opening a new concept at 232 Eighth Avenue, at 21st Street, but the only facts known to the public are that it’ll have 68 seats, a seven-person bar, and a full liquor license. Also, according to the Community Board application, the new Momofuku restaurant will stay open until 11 p.m. on weekdays, and 1 a.m. on weekends. There’s no word on when it’s scheduled to open, but it’s Chang’s style to do a surprise drop, Beyoncé-style.
