Japan Just Got Its Own Super Mario Café

Shockingly, Tokyo still boasts three Tower Records outposts, and the retail-music legend is opening Mario-themed pop-ups at those locations to celebrate 30 years of Super Mario Bros. For two weeks at the end of June, patrons in the cafés can munch on a Princess Peach wafer, or finally turn the tables on a Piranha Plant.

While a glaring absence of green mushrooms is a misstep, gamers with a superstitious streak can still enjoy this rice-omelette dish shaped like an invincibility star:
