Danny Meyer’s Porchlight Looks Like Manhattan’s Most Easygoing New Cocktail Bar

It won’t be long until all fine-dining restaurateurs have a bar of their own: Danny Meyer’s newest concept combines the best of a sleek, modern New York bar with the old-time-y charm of a Southern drinking hole — a slam dunk. There are 12 cocktails on the menu, all of which cost $14, and the lineup includes Behind the Mule, New York Sour, and Sherry Cobbler. There’s also a well-curated beer and wine list, but the focus here is definitely on cocktails.

Blue Smoke chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois, a Louisiana native, will cook snacks like smoky beef jerky, jalapeño-Cheddar cornbread, boiled-peanut hummus, a double-triple bison burger, and fresh-baked cookies. (Ideal drunk food.) The opening date is Monday, March 2 — in the meantime, take a look at a few of the drinks and the space:
