McDonald’s is not big in Japan: After a series of mishaps — including one customer finding human teeth in her food, and another discovering the filling of a cavity in a McNugget — the Japanese unit of the company is facing its first annual operating loss. Sales for the month of January dipped a record 39 percent, and over the course of 2014, losses totaled 6.7 billion yen, or $57 million.

It seems like everything McDonald’s Japan does ends in a fumble: One of its major chicken suppliers got caught using something called “recycled meat,” and then someone actually thought it was a good idea to sell Tofu McNuggets.
