KISS Front Man Paul Stanley’s Never-Aired Coffee Commercial Is Awesomely Bad

A video of future president Obama diplomatically reviewing a Chicago restaurant on a PBS show recently surfaced on YouTube, and today’s gem of improbability comes from a KISS fan, who somehow found this never-aired Paul Stanley spot for Folgers. It depicts the guitarist wandering into a circus tent with a hot cup and serenading a couple of lady trapezists to a thrumming, accordion-backed tune that eventually breaks out into the familiar coffee jingle. Apparently, focus groups were a little bit confused by the rocker, asking, “Who is the old, creepy guy?” Writer, comedian, and Best Show host Tom Scharpling is taking credit for the commercial, calling it his “masterpiece.” With poetic couplets like “Limit is the sky,” and “Hey, world, watch me fly,” it’s just that.
