What to Eat at Eli’s Table, the New UES Restaurant Next to Eli’s Market

Eli Zabar’s stores are New York icons — places to purchase spectacular smoked fish, snack on chocolate babka, and even say, “I love you.” Hopefully, the energy translates to a new restaurant, Eli’s Table, which will feature American dishes made with the ingredients sourced right from the market. Co-executive chefs John Carr and Montezuma Garcia will change the menu daily, depending on what’s in season, and offer tried-and-true classics like dry-aged rib-eye and wild swordfish. The space, formerly home to TASTE Restaurant & Wine Bar, has undergone a total renovation — no more tablecloths, a mural by Brooklyn-based Scottish artist Stuart Lorimer, and a white marble bar.
