This Thanksgiving Kickstarter for a Bacon-Wrapped Gator Stuffed With a Turducken Needs Your Help

Times editor Sam Sifton brings the plight of Portland-based chef Marc Anthony and his not-at-all ambitious candied-bacon-wrapped gator pork turducken to the forefront of, well, the minds of anyone who thought that potato-salad Kickstarter was a bad idea. Problem is the campaign is in dire need of help — $5,000 of it, to be precise. And there are six hours left. But just look at what you could be a part of: a “relatively large gator from Louisiana,” dry-rubbed in Cajun seasonings, some teriyaki marinade, Thai coconut-steeped chicken, Red Hot duck, bacon, and bánh mì stuffing. Anthony swears he’s a professional cook, so “there will be no set backs.” What a relief.
