A reader alerts us to potentially huge changes at Krescendo in Boerum Hill: The windows at the two-year-old restaurant have been papered over, and a sign up front indicates its owners are working with the team at Sugar Freak, the well-loved Astoria restaurant that perhaps not coincidentally has been mysteriously closed as of late. If Sugar Freak is indeed moving to Brooklyn, expect a sprawling, Louisiana-style menu of things like po’ boys, shrimp and grits, and muffulettas. Krescendo originally opened with Elizabeth Falkner making pizzas in the kitchen in the fall of 2012. The chef left six months later and eventually took charge of Corvo Bianco on the Upper West Side, which has also since closed. [Related]
