Police in the D.C. suburb of Montgomery County, Maryland, are searching for a person who phoned the owner of a local business at 3 a.m. and threatened to kill him for flying the Israeli flag outside his establishment. Benny's Bar & Grill owner Benny Fischer told local media he hoisted it alongside Old Glory last week to show support for Israel in the Gaza conflict and says after the first day, someone called twice in the middle of the night from a blocked number and said, "Take the flag down, you f--ing Jew. Jews are scum … We are going to kill all the Jews, including you." Police tell the local CBS affiliate they are investigating the incident as a hate crime. [CBS DC, Jewish Week]
