The Los Gatos building that is home to chef and owner David Kinch’s acclaimed restaurant Manresa sustained some $400,000 in structural damage as a result of yesterday’s two-alarm fire, which authorities estimate will take four to five months to repair. It took 35 firefighters several hours to control the blaze at the restaurant, which had been closed for the holiday weekend. Kinch flew in from New York to visit the scene, and after thanking the fire department, he vowed to reopen. “I think we’re going to be a stronger and better restaurant,” he said.
