Shalom Chai, which has been called the last remaining kosher dairy spot on the Lower East Side, appears to be officially done. Last month, it was seized by the city marshal, who acted on behalf of the Seward Park Co-op Board, which owns the Grand Street strip where Shalom Chai once operated alongside Noah’s Ark Deli, which has also since closed. “I’m going to stay as long as it is possible,” owner David Tgar said, but now the space has been listed for rent at $9,500 a month.
