Incredibly talented vegetable wizard Amanda Cohen gets all eschatological, also a little misty-eyed, over on her Dirt Candy blog, explaining that these are the last days of her original, very tiny East 9th Street restaurant. “[Y]ou’ll never again be able to sit next to the bathroom door and get bumped into by waiters while the people at the next table listen to every word you say,” she writes. “Truly, it is the end of an era.” There are a few reservations open for the restaurant’s final few weeks, before he switches focus to readying Cohen’s so-called “Big Dirt Candy,” which will open at 86 Allen Street, hopefully by November. It’ll have a lot more leg room and space for greens. [Official site, Related]
