Two Brooklyn guys who claimed they were wrongfully arrested after refusing to surrender their White Castle to police in Coney Island just a few days after Hurricane Sandy have reportedly accepted a $32,500 settlement from the city. “Several” NYPD officers responding to reports of looting allegedly struck the men with flashlights before putting them in jail for two days. The pair never got to eat their burgers, but the $32K will cover approximately 47,101 replacement sliders. [Gothamist]
