A rep sends word that Take Root chef and owner Elise Kornack will offer an all-vegetarian tasting menu July 31 through August 2 at the small Carroll Gardens restaurant, which has a devoted following. (The restaurant normally serves lots of vegetables, but will go meatless for these three days.) The menu hits just as Greenmarket produce like heirloom tomatoes and local eggplant are hitting their stride; six courses (plus extras) cost $85, and include dishes like yellow beets with smoked egg yolk, cocoa nib, and nasturtium grown in Take Root’s garden.
