The San Diego–based company is late, very late, to the Cronut-copycat scene, but it does win the prize for first drive-through fauxnut, which it's testing with the sort of lame name "Croissant Donut" a Reddit user spied on a promo sign at a local San Diego location. Listed for 89 cents each, or three for $1.99, they're cinnamon-and-sugar-dusted, perhaps a bit more bulbous than desired, and, if rolled out nationwide, may be the mass-produced "decent facsimile" that all but ensures the likes of Burger King and Dunkin' Donuts will follow suit.
