A spokesperson for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office tells Gothamist that it is looking into the sudden closure of reBar in Dumbo, which happened last Friday when signs appeared on the restaurant’s doors and windows informing staff and customers that the place had gone bankrupt. Owner Jason Stevens also sent a short email to managers, who were allegedly owed back pay, warning them not to enter the premises. In the meantime, several local restaurants and venues have come forward with offers to help anyone who had been planning an event at the space; Eater has the full list here.
