Watch April Bloomfield and Sean Brock in the Cook It Raw Documentary

In October, the sixth annual Cook It Raw gathering of chefs took place in Charleston, South Carolina, and the task at hand was to create entirely new dishes inspired by the Lowcountry, chef Sean Brock's home turf. Daniel Klein and Mirra Fine, the smart documentarians behind Perennial Plate were there for it all, and the resulting documentary not only captures the week leading up to the big dinner, but also the massive barbecue held two days afterward. Here's Brock, Bloomfield, Albert Adria, Dan Barber, and many more venerated chefs trying their best to get a sense of the South, and to put that on a plate.
