Baohaus chef Eddie Huang is up in arms that the kind folks at City Sub have seemingly been pushed out of business in advance of renovations at their longtime Park Slope home. The front doors are papered over at the 28-year-old Bergen Street sandwich shop, and a sign in the window reads, “We are closed due to the demolition and pending renovation of the building.” But this may not really be the end of the road for the no-frills sandwich shop, which apparently counts Pete Wells and A.O. Scott of the Times as fans: Workers say that City Sub is moving to a new location in the neighborhood. Here’s Park Slope thinks the commute for those crispy sesame-seeded rolls and cold cuts will be shorter than anyone thinks, and City Sub will reopen in the former Melt space, pretty much just next door.
