Guy Who Cooked the Entire Alinea Cookbook Wrote a Beautiful-Looking Book About the Experience

San Francisco resident Allen Hemberger received Alinea, the cookbook, as a Christmas gift the year it came out, and soon enough he was at work re-creating the modernist recipes therein. Five years on, Hemberger realized his obsessive exploits, along with his beautiful photos of the results, might make a decent book itself. The resulting project is all a bit like Synecdoche, New York, but with extensive sous vide. Interestingly, Hemberger’s Kickstarter campaign to put the book into production has garnered the Twitter blessings of Alinea owner Nick Kokanas, which is pretty cool.
