In a particularly unfortunate turn of events, more than 100 of some 1,300 attendees of a food safety conference held earlier this month at the Baltimore Convention Center have reported similar symptoms of food poisoning, such as nausea and diarrhea. Participants and speakers included executives from corporations like McDonald’s and Tyson, as well as representatives of the USDA and the Centers for Disease Control. Tests are pending, and the microbe at fault has not yet been identified, but something tells us that someone here is going to figure it out sooner rather than later. [Washington Times]
