Here’s an interesting bit of news, if only for the fact that it’s typically cocktail bars that edge out the old-school vendors, not the other way around: Essex Street business the Pickle Guys is taking over the former PKNY space “to alleviate the crowded conditions in the current sub-level store.” Richard Boccato’s tiki bar closed last summer after the landlord “chose not to renew” its lease, and while those old Suffering Bastards may be sorely missed, this is a major score for horseradish dills and kraut.
