The newspaper’s annual food issue is out this weekend, and it’s overstuffed with goodies, including a voyeuristic look into chefs’ refrigerators, Bittman riffing on chefs and celebrity, and that funny story about the rival craft-beer-brewing twins from Evil Twin and Mikkeller. There’s an in-depth look at Californian prodigy chef (and cover boy) Flynn McGarry, who, at the age of 15, is already teetering on a kind of fine-dining fame, while a killer profile of Barbara Lynch covers her unlikely start in the industry, her collection of excellent Boston restaurants, and the roles of women in the industry. “It’s not about me anymore. It’s about the next generation. We need more women in this business,” she says. Lynch probably would have made a better, if less grabby, cover. [NYTM]
