Only one delicatessen will give you a free sample of its fatty pastrami after you order a sandwich, or will begrudging give you a cup of totally unnecessary mayonnaise on the side, or will send a salami to your boy in the army. All of these things are perhaps some of the reasons why the Katz’s is seeking to protect its venerable name with a just-filed, $1 million-plus lawsuit against Katz & Dogz, a food-truck-based Brooklyn business that also sells pastrami. The Post reports that the 125-year-old deli has been trying to negotiate with the vendor since last year but had no choice but to sue after failing to reach an agreement. Now, Katz & Dogz will most likely be forced to make it rain. [NYP]
