The pioneering chef is indeed expanding to Tennessee, with Adele’s by Jonathan Waxman, a 4,500-square-foot restaurant set to open, like Barbuto, in a former car-care and garage space. Adele’s, which is named after Waxman’s mother, will have a combined 100 seats between private and main dining spaces. In Toronto, he’s teaming up with Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman to open Montecito, which, at 12,000 square feet and 280 seats, seems a bit like Barbuto on steroids. No opening date for Montecito has been announced, but Adele’s will open this summer, the Tennessean reports, and the chef’s business partner hints that the collaboration may ultimately lead to more restaurant projects in the neighborhood.
