April’s WSJ. Magazine has a great profile on Josep, Jordi, and Joan Roca, the brothers who run the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list-topping El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain. The trio are — perhaps predictably — hard at work at a number of books and a grab-bag of food and non-food side projects, but this summer, they will take pretty much the entire restaurant on the road as part of its so-called Roca & Roll World Tour 2014, a five-week, corporate-sponsored food event with stops in Medellín, Lima, Mexico City, and (“if all goes well”) New York.

Much like René Redzepi and Heston Blumenthal’s earlier announcements, the trip, in which 26 of El Celler de Can Roca’s front- and back-of-house staff ride along, will require the restaurant to shut down temporarily. Joan Roca, the magazine reports, scouted New York around the holidays for a location to stage the traveling version of El Celler this summer.
