Ballantine’s Brasil, which debuted in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands late last year, is not just a one-off novelty Scotch. “There has been great development, interest and growing popularity” for the Brazilian-inspired, lime-infused liquor, says global brand director Peter Moore, who adds that “it looks like it isn’t going to be a short-term fad.” Get ready for the inevitable bacon-, whipped-cream-, and Cinnabon-flavored Scotch whiskeys to be on store shelves by this time next year.
