Van Leeuwen Ice Cream’s New Truck Makes Its L.A. Debut This Weekend

The six-year-old Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream company counts trucks and brick-and-mortar locations in its NYC empire, and this weekend it will debut its “buttery yellow scoop truck” in Los Angeles. Additionally, the Brooklyn-based company’s pints, which are stocked everywhere on the East Coast from Whole Foods’ freezer aisles to corner store deep freeze boxes, are now available for the first time (vegan options, too) on the West Coast, at the Oaks Gourmet Market. Founder partner Pete Van Leeuwen moved to California last month to expand the ice cream company’s base of operations, so expect scoops aplenty in the very near future. In the meantime, the L.A. truck will be posting its locations online, and the crew also has a cookbook in the works. [Earlier]
