Speed the Plow

Two customers eating at EXO Cafe in Forest Hills had to be taken to the hospital on Thursday night after a passing NYC Department of Sanitation truck’s plow sent a barrage of ice, snow, and debris through the restaurant’s façade. The force of the frozen projectiles was enough to decimate EXO’s winter vestibule and shatter windows, the Queens Courier reports. The restaurant’s dining room surveillance video shows the incoming debris knocking a customer’s chair right out from underneath her, while an exterior camera captures the moment the debris hits the vinyl-sided vestibule, momentarily ripping the entire structure up off the sidewalk. A city official tells NBC it will take disciplinary action against the truck’s crew.
