The former proprietor of Harlem’s famed Lenox Lounge, which closed in 2012, is working on a rebooted version of the club two blocks north, the Daily News reports. Alvin Reed owns the rights to the Lenox Lounge name as well as some of the old furnishings; restaurateur Richie Notar, in the meantime, is about to open his anticipated Notar Jazz Club in its former digs at 288 Lenox Avenue, prompting hints of an all-out jazz-club-lounge war. “There’s no competition,” says Reed. “We got the bar, the sign, so there will be no mistake about who’s the Lenox Lounge and who’s not.” [Daily News, Related]
