Neighborhood Italian spot Gusto Ristorante e Bar Americano closed January 1. At the time, PX This reported that restaurant owner Sasha Muniak plans to reopen a “new, yet-to-be-announced project” in the space. Gusto opened in 2006 and was helmed by chef Jody Williams (Buvette), who left and was later replaced by Amanda Freitag, who’s now chef and partner at Empire Diner in Chelsea.
