In what's surely an early contender for 2014's Most Depressing Chain-Restaurant Guest Check Debacle, South Carolina police arrested a man at a Sumter Applebee's on Valentine's Day after his debit card was declined and he instead "offered to pay with a trillion dollar bill." The diner, 53-year-old Michael Williams, was booked on an unrelated charge, sentenced to probation, and ordered to pay $262 in court fees.
