Partners Michael DiBugnara, Joseph Primiano, and Rick Froio are working with Staten Island-based chef Mario Gentile on the opening of Adoro Lei at 287 Hudson Street in Soho, last home to the dive bar Antarctica. From the looks of it, the incoming restaurant has a slice fixation, and reps describe the establishment as a "sophisticated yet casual Italian-American lounge, restaurant, and pizzeria." Gentile trained under Michelin-starred chef Adriano Cavagnini at La Terrazza dell'Eden in Rome, then cooked in the kitchens of places like the Rainbow Room back home. He is currently chef and co-owner of Nove Italian Bistro in Eltingville, Staten Island. [Earlier]
